Scottish Education Minister Jamie Hepburn visited West Lothian College recently to see how it is equipping covid workers for new jobs in health and care.The minister was there to learn about a skills initiative that is already giving people new opportunities and supporting Scotland’s future health and social care services.The college recently teamed up with the Scottish Ambulance Service to look at retraining workers employed in Covid-19 mobile testing centres so that they are able to progress onto other jobs in the health sector.The collaboration has resulted in ‘Gateway to Health and Social Care’, – a new skills course built around the specific needs of Covid-19 testing staff and delivered through online workshops.People taking the course
