Wembley Stadium could be used as a mass vaccination centre in a desperate bid to keep the Indian variant under control, according to reports.
Under plans being weighed up by the NHS, Chelsea's Stamford Bridge in West London could also be used to vaccinate over-18s in areas worst hit by the mutant strain, the Telegraph reports.
London Mayor Sadiq Khan has called on ministers to roll out jabs for younger people amid fears the new variant could scupper plans to lift coronavirus restrictions on June 21.
In London, Bedford and Bolton, jabs are being offered to multi-generational households, meaning teenagers are being vaccinated.
