Pfizer vaccine have fewer antibodies to variant of Covid first discovered in India, new research suggests. A study from the Francis Crick Institute found that older people are most at risk with levels of antibodies getting lower with increasing age.
Researchers found that the Pfizer vaccine is significantly less effective at producing antibodies to that particular strain, also known as Delta.
Experts say the study's data showed strong evidence for providing a third booster jab for vulnerable people in autumn and reducing the gap between the first and second dose.
