During the war she volunteered to move to Leamington Spa, and work in the munitions factory there. "This gave Joan an interest in travel, and after the war she set sail on a two week voyage from Greenock to New York to meet her younger sister Marion.
From there she moved to Delphi in Canada."But undoubtedly her bravest step was marrying my dad and moving into Windward Road with my sisters and I.
