military soldier who was killed aged 17, has hid his bedroom raided by burglars who have been branded "total scumbags".A sniper shot Jason when he was just a teenager on Mount Longdon during the war which started in April 1982, reports Daily Mirror.Days before the 40th anniversary of the start of the Falklands War, robbers who commited the crime, broke into Jason's mum's house in north London and stole priceless items.Jason's mum Terry Burt expressed that she kept her late son's room just like he left it before he went to the war more than four decades ago.During the robbery, thieves ransacked the untouched room and threw clothes on the floor in their search for valuable items.Mum Terry, 86, told The Mirror: "How could people do such a terrible thing?"My son died for his country and these scumbags came into his room."It was particularly upsetting as it was so close to the anniversary."Jason's brother Jarvis is completely outraged and says the criminals have violated his late brother's memory and his mum's home. The Falklands War was a ten-week undeclared war between Argentina and the United Kingdom in 1982.Jason, of 3 Para, was killed storming an enemy position two days before Argentina surrendered.Items that were stolen included Jarvis's car, jewellery and wads of cash. The war's 40th anniversarycomes after nearly 30,000 of the UK's soldiers, sailors and air crew were sent 8,000 miles to the South Atlantic to reclaim the islands after they were invaded. The hard-won victory would transform the nation but more than 255 British servicemen lost their lives during a war that lasted just 74 days.Commemorating the anniversary, both the BBC and Channel 4 have dedicated documentaries to explore the war and its effect on veterans.
