asserted that black people are “the true Hebrews” and referenced antisemitic conspiracy theories regarding Zionism and the Rothschild family.ViacomCBS severed ties with him over the comments, axing his MTV comedy show Wild ‘n Out and ending his status as a creative partner of Nickelodeon’s kids’ programming unit.However, as Cannon apologized and has now met with Jewish leaders, who have said he has now learned from the row and understands why his remarks were antisemitic, ViacomCBS’ president of entertainment and youth.
