UK will be 'more or less back to normal for summer', SAGE member predicts

Brits will be "more or less back to normal for the summer", a scientific advisor to the government predicted today. Professor Andrew Hayward said the UK can enjoy a "significant return to normality" once all the top priority groups have had the coronavirus vaccine.

The Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (SAGE) member added that coronavirus is a "seasonal disease", which will help bring case rates down at the same time.

Prof Hayward's comments come after Boris Johnson refused to budge from his date of March 8 for beginning an easing of lockdown, despite the Chief Medical Officer suggesting we have passed the peak of the second wave.
