Met Office warns of a coming heatwave. Friday is forecast to be a scorching day with some parts of the country predicted to bask in sweltering sunshine.
Temperatures hit 37.8C on Friday at Heathrow Airport in London, making it the hottest day of the year so far and the UK’s third hottest on record.And by Friday most of the country will reach 30C again – with parts of the south east set to sizzle at 37C.The scorching summer sun could see the all-time temperature record smash – currently standing at 38.7C set in Cambridge in July 2019.
And the Met Office said that the glorious weather could continue into the weekend and even “possibly meet heatwave conditions”.
