Temperatures will sizzle at 24C in some parts of the UK today as forecasters say summer is "finally making a comeback". With "wall-to-wall sunshine" expected across most of Britain, the mercury will rise and showers will cease.
The pleasant weather is likely to continue into Monday too, but things will get unsettled during the week. But nevertheless, John Hammond, a former BBC weather presenter, wrote on his blog weathertrending.com : "For a time this weekend actually, the summer will make a real comeback.
It'll be very pleasant for the vast majority of us, certainly as nearly all of us will be dry. "On Sunday for England and Wales, more of the same.
