Woman killed driving Uber Eats car may have 'solved her own murder' with final photo
US woman who was shot dead while working as an Uber Eats delivery driver may have helped police catch her killer.Arizona grandmother Pamela Rae Martinez snapped a photo shortly after she had completed her last food delivery for the night. The photo shows a man that is now the prime suspect in the inquiry into her death.Pamela, 60, was found “in distress and non-responsive” in her car, which had rolled at low speed off West Bell Road, Glendale, Arizona.Officers attempted first aid but she was later pronounced dead at the scene.Glendale Police Sergeant Randy Stewart said that investigators had established that she had been shot through her vehicle’s open window.According to a witness, the victim’s car had been parked by the side of the road with a van parked alongside her.The witness saw a man briefly standing next to Pamela’s car, before getting back into his van and driving away.Police discovered that, in the moments before her death, Pamela had “for some reason” had taken a photograph of a man sitting in his van next to her car.The person in the photo has since been identified as local man Rusty French.French, 62, is now facing charges of second-degree murder in Martinez’s death.Under questioning by police, French conceded that he was the man in the photo, but could not explain why it might have been taken, claiming he “must have blacked out” about what happened between himself and the victim.Police obtained a search warrant for French’s home, where they found a number handguns, one of which was a ballistics match for the gun used in the shooting.“It is believed that the two were unknown to each other,” Sgt.

Muslims would like to see UK companies do more to raise awareness of Ramadan
More than nine in ten (93%) Muslims would like to see more initiatives from UK companies to raise awareness of Ramadan and its practices.A study of 500 Muslims revealed that while nearly half (48%) feel their employers do take some measures to support the community during Ramadan, more could be done in the workplace.More flexibility (56%), earlier finish times (55%) and frequent breaks throughout the day (41%) were among the top things these workers would like to have during the month.Later start times and working from home also feature among the workplace requests. In response to these findings, Uber Eats launched its “Sundown Spots” initiative – a series of pop-up restaurants offering free iftar meals after sundown, to support the delivery drivers and couriers working throughout Ramadan.BAFTA nominated TV chef, Zuhair Hassan – known to many as Big Zuu – who is working with Uber Eats, said: “For me, Ramadan is a time to reset and reflect.“Iftar is my favourite part of Ramadan. It feels like a pinnacle moment – you take a step back, realise where you are now, and where you’re meant to be heading.“So I’m pleased to be partnering with Uber Eats on an initiative that is celebrating the significance of this moment.“It’s so important that Muslims are represented and feel seen and heard in modern Britain, not least during the most sacred month in the Islamic calendar – so it’s great to be able to highlight the fantastic food our culture has to offer.“When it comes to opening fast, I’ll eat most things – apart from pork, of course.

Uber Eats driver on the run after 'stealing woman's dog' while delivering pizza
Uber Eats drive in the US is being sought after by police after he allegedly stole a woman’s puppy to return it just days later. The male driver is accused of stealing six-month-old Ella, a Cocker Spaniel Poodle mix, after he dropped off a pizza delivery in Brooklyn, New York.Owner Melanie Polanco realised her dog was missing and saw the driver take her dog with him on CCTV footage.Ella had sneaked out of the apartment when she briefly left the door ajar but it was too late by the time she noticed the puppy had gone.Ms Polanco spoke to local news outlet WPIX-TV on Monday and the driver is said then to have seen himself on the news committing the theft. She was shocked the following morning after the driver, who identified himself as Michael, called her to say he “didn’t steal the dog”.He told Ms Polanco that she believed Ella was lost and took her to a neighbour. However, footage does not collaborate his alleged story as it shows Ella being taken to his vehicle.Ms Polanco told him that she just wanted her dog back as she was “worried” about her.The same day at around 12.15pm, police were waiting as a man showed up with Ella but he told officers he was just paid to bring the dog back.Speaking to the New York Post, Ms Polanco said: “I got my baby back. I’m happy, the family’s happy, we all got our family member back.
