Weather forecasters are warning Brits hoping to head off for a 'staycation' during the school holidays that they face a washout summer.
Rain is on the way this week as those school pupils to have returned after lockdown across the country break up for summer. Wet weather emptied beaches yesterday after Saturday's sizzle.
The Met Office forecasted a below-average 17-23C highs with dry skies on Monday and Tuesday. But with many schools breaking up by midweek, Government forecasters said Wednesday is due rain and strong winds in the North, spreading to the South-West into the weekend as staycationers arrive.
Many more people than normal are expected to be heading off on holiday in the UK with foreign travel complicated by the coronavirus
