UK weather: Flood warnings and alerts issued for parts of Britain as heavy rain hits

Flood warnings and alerts have been issued for parts of the country as heavy rain is set to batter Britain. There are 14 flood warnings in place in England - where flooding is expected and immediate action is required.

Areas of the South Cornwall coast and the South Devon coast are among the places warned. Meanwhile 69 flood alerts have been put in place, where flooding is also possible.

These include for the east coast of Dorset, Christchurch harbour, Kempsey in Worcestershire and the River Arrow in Herefordshire.
