West Ham United defender Angelo Ogbonna has criticised the Premier League and the government for their tactic to delay the spread of the coronavirus.
Premier League fixtures had been expected to go ahead as planned this weekend and were only suspended after Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta and Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi tested positive for the virus.
Matches are now postponed until April at the earliest, but this action has come far too late in the eyes of Ogbonna. "I am happy and relieved that everything has now been suspended, including the minor leagues," he told Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera . "It was almost as if they wanted to ignore such a serious problem.
