UK coronavirus death toll increases by 114

coronavirus in the last 24 hours has increased by 114, the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) has said. Officials said 45,233 people had now passed away in hospitals, care homes and the wider community having contracted COVID-19 as of 5pm on Thursday – up by 114 from 45,119 the previous day.Another 66 deaths were recorded on Thursday.Separate figures published by the UK’s statistics agencies show there have now been 55,700 deaths registered in the UK where COVID-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.The DHSC also said that in the 24-hour period up to 9am on Friday, there had been a further 687 lab-confirmed UK cases.
