weather warnings have been issued for snow in Scotland ahead of an unsettled week. The first of the warnings will come into effect across the north of Scotland from midnight tonight.Forecasters say that around 3cm of snow could land over a 12-hour period, before the warning concludes at midday on Monday.Aberdeenshire, the Highlands and the Orkney Islands are among the places to experience the worst of the conditions.
But it will worsen for southern and north eastern parts of Scotland from 10pm on Monday. Experts say that around eight inches of snow could land in areas of high ground during a 26 hour spell of winter weather.
