Snow and ice to hit Scotland as yellow weather warning extended for whole weekend

Forecasters say strong winds are likely to lead to some travel disruption and coastal regions could be impacted by large waves.“Treacherous” ice conditions are expected to develop followed by freezing rain.Experts say significant disruption is possible in the worst hit areas.Warnings have been raised about dangerous driving conditions and longer journey times are expected for travel.Outbreaks of snow are expected in Strathclyde, Grampian, Dumfries and Galloway and Ayrshire on.
