deal is to get people out and using the rail network again after the difficult years due to coronavirus. It will be available from next Monday until May 27.
Just as other costs increase, travel fares won't be too bad for a few weeks. The promotion was announced in an advert featuring Transport Secretary Grant Shapps.
Called the "Great British Rail Sale", all the major train operators in England are involved, including cross-boarder companies in Wales. There's more than 1million discounted tickets on offer and people in charge say that 800,000 of those are set to be half price. And if you're eligible for a railcard, you can combine the discount with that to get an even bigger discount.
So a journey from Manchester to Newcastle could be as little as £10, while London to Edinburgh can cost £22, instead of £44.Sleeper services aren't included in the sale though.
