Arsenal legend Tony Adams claims he turned down an approach from Sir Alex Ferguson to join Manchester United - because of the Gunners’ ambition at the time.
The former England defender would go on to win two Premier League titles under Arsene Wenger’s management to add to the two First Division titles he won earlier in his career.
United and Arsenal were the two major forces in the earlier Premier League years, regularly battling it out for the title. Adams has gone down as one the the Gunners’ greatest ever players and making 672 appearances for the team over an almost 20 year career.
