Many parts of England will be plunged back into tough new Covid restrictions once the latest lockdown finishes on December 2.
Boris Johnson today outlined his new plans which allowed the reopening of pubs, restaurants and gyms in England But he warned the months ahead "will be hard, they will be cold, they include January and February when the NHS is under its greatest pressure".
Stricter measures will now be introduced under the three-tier system being used in local authorities before the latest lockdown.
Britons do not yet know what tier their area will be under once lockdown ends - that will be announced on Thursday. However, it is likely that more areas will have to endure tougher restrictions.
