iOS - Android "There is a right and a wrong, and sometimes it's different from the law."Fitzsimmons, of Stevenston Road, Kilwinning, admitted striking Mohammad Akhtar repeatedly on the hand and face with a sword to his severe injury, permanent disfigurement and permanent impairment.The attack – believed to be over a debt – happened at the Madras Cottage on April 5 last year.Hamilton Sheriff Court heard that Mr Akhtar was working when Fitzsimmons entered the takeaway around 10pm.Jennifer Cunningham, prosecuting, said: "The accused and Mr Akhtar did not know each other."The accused was in possession of a sword and immediately approached the counter."He swung the sword towards Mr Akhtar who put his hands up to defend himself and was struck on.
