'UK's tallest rollercoaster' when the famous attraction broke down mid-ride. Passengers on The Big One at Blackpool Pleasure Beach yesterday (September 1) had to be moved to safety after the ride, which reaches speeds of 85mph, came to a halt.

The ride reportedly broke down shortly before 2pm, with passengers stuck at the top of one of the peaks of the track.READ MORE:New Legoland larger set to be 'biggest in Europe' opening in 2027 "I spotted passengers from a car on The Big One stationary on the platform near the end of the ride getting out of their seats," one eyewitness told LancsLive.

People stuck on the ride were believed to have been moved to safety and the ride was working again shortly afterwards.The Big One - or Pepsi Max - ride at Pleasure Beach whizzes passengers at speeds of 85mph around the red and blue track.
