Schools will receive further guidance on how to roll out the programme and whether they will be eligible for the scheme. And parents can ask schools to set up a breakfast club, even if they haven't signed up to the help.

Once a breakfast club has been set up, all kids need to do is turn up as there's no need to apply. Children and families minister Vicky Ford encourages all eligible schools to sign up.
