Thomas The Tank Engine narrator Michael Angelis has died. The actor, who also starred in Auf Wiedersehen, Pet, died at his home, with his agent confirming the sad news.
Michael narrated the show for 13 series, taking over from Ringo Starr in 1991. He was also well known for his roles as Arnie in September Song, Martin Niarchos in GBH, Lucien Boswell in The Liver Birds and as Mickey Startup in Auf Wiedersehen, Pet.
The actor was married to Coronation Street star Helen Worth (Gail Platt) from 1991 to 2001, before marrying Jennifer Khalastchi, who he is survived by.
