The six-year-old child had been cycling along Wilmott Street, in the south Manchester suburb, when he was hit by a car just before 6pm on Sunday.Emergency services were called to the junction of Wilmott Street and Chevril Close, after reports of a collision involving a car and a bicycle.The boy suffered critical injuries and was airlifted to hospital, where he died a short time later.A 32-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving, and has since been released under investigation.Wilmott Street, and parts of Stretford Road were cordoned off by police into the late evening on Sunday, while police worked to gather evidence.Police are now appealing for any witnesses, or drivers with dash cam footage, to.
