Ole Gunnar Solskjaer outlines Dean Henderson plan as star pens six-year Man Utd deal

David de Gea at Manchester United. The 23-year-old has put pen to paper on a five-year deal with the option for a sixth at Old Trafford after two impressive seasons on loan at Sheffield United - and he had been tipped to replace his Spanish colleague as United No 1.

However, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believing that De Gea is the best goalkeeper in the world that was always going to be unlikely, but he hasn’t ruled out giving him the shirt down the line.

It now appears that Henderson, although determined to start games this season, is likely to take up the mantle when De Gea is less able in years to come.

Solskjaer told the official United: “We are delighted that Dean has signed his new contract. He had another great season at Sheffield.
