His other work for ITV includes All Star Mr & Mrs (2008–2016), The Cube (2009–2015), and 5 Gold Rings (2017–present). Schofield gained national attention working for the BBC, first as a continuity presenter for Children's BBC on weekdays from 1985 to 1987, then as a presenter on the children's Saturday morning magazine show Going Live! between September 1987 and April 1993.

ITV viewers were left scratching their heads as they tuned into This Morning on Tuesday.This comes after Prime Minister Boris Johnson's latest announcement on Monday about plans to scrap social distancing on 19 July in what is being called 'Freedom Day'.Daytime hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield were also keen to talk about 'Freedom Day' on the following day.But they confused fans when they sat two metres apart to social distance as they hosted the show, despite being allowed to sit side-by-side when they attended Wimbledon on Monday afternoon.Discussing the issue of social distancing being scrapped, 40-year-old Holly said: "There's a lot of excitement out there.
