Linda Lusardi slams government for 'premature' restriction lifting after Covid battle

Covid survivor Linda Lusardi says Boris Johnson is making a big mistake by lifting all restrictions later this month. From July 19 a raft of limitations will vanish with face masks, social distancing, QR codes and ordering at the bar in pubs no longer a legal requirement in England.

Scientists have warned it is too soon and one study suggests cases could reach 120,000 every day when most of the last remaining lockdown restrictions are gone.

Former model Linda and her husband Sam Kane both contracted the virus in March 2020. The 62-year-old was hospitalised for nine days in the early part of the pandemic, and admits it was "a bit touch and go" as she fought for her life.
