This Morning viewers weren’t pleased that a phone kept going off during an interview on the show on Friday morning. Alison Hammond, 46, and Dermot O’Leary, 48, were chatting to a former police officer and the man who shot him, when viewers were distracted by the undeniably annoying notification sounds. The phone owner received a barrage of notifications at the time, which sounded like a mixture of both WhatsApps and Facebook messages. The faux-pas and noise didn’t go unnoticed by viewers, who took to social media to express their annoyance. “@thismorning what is it with the phone keeps pinging whilst talking to levroy and james,” wrote one person. “@thismorning please get the guy to turn his phone off!,” penned another. “The guest on This Morning not putting his phone on silent has me gagging,” wrote a third.

Meanwhile, another viewer said that they kept mistaking the notification noises for their own phone. Someone else said: “What’s unbelievable is that one of these people hadn’t put their phone on silent! #thismorning”.

Another disgruntled viewer penned: “Imagine not turning your phone off before you go on telly.” Get exclusive celebrity stories and fabulous photoshoots straight to your inbox with OK!'s daily newsletter.
