The show, a total gift to watch, is based on the fight to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment to the US Constitution in the early Seventies.
The fictionalised plot pits women’s-liberation activists (“libbers” to the opposition) including Gloria Steinem, Betty Friedan and Bella Abzug against traditionalists, led by Phyllis Schlafly.
