Crews were called to the moorland fire, near Black Moss Reservoir, at around 7pm on Sunday night (April). The blaze, which had a mile-long fire front at its peak, has been burning ever since, with firefighters and volunteers working hard to bring the incident under control.
Yesterday afternoon, most of the flames had been extinguished, with just four crews remaining at the scene to dampen down the area.
But the response was stepped up last night and a helicopter was deployed to help target pockets of fire that continued to burn.
