Crews were called to a fire at a commercial premises on Gilchrist Road at 1pm today on Friday (May 7). The blaze involves a large quantity of waste.

Three fire engines from Stretford, Eccles and Irlam stations are currently at the scene. A spokesperson for GMFRS said: “At approximately 1pm on Friday, 7th May, firefighters were called to reports of a fire at a commercial premises on Gilchrist Road, in Irlam. “Three fire engines from Stretford, Eccles and Irlam fire stations quickly attended the scene.
