It's been confirmed that the Queen will address the nation this Sunday regarding the coronavirus Covid-19 pandemic, speaking in a pre-recorded message from her home in Windsor Castle.

It will be the fifth time the Queen has put out a crisis-related address to the nation in her 68-year reign. She has previously addressed the country during the Gulf War in 1991, following the deaths of Princess Diana in 1997 and the Queen Mother in 2002 and following her Diamond Jubilee Weekend in 2012.

It will be broadcast on TV and radio at 8pm and also streamed on the Royal Family's social media channels. The news was confirmed in a statement from Buckingham Palace.
