Bolton is currently the only borough in Greater Manchester where cases of the virus are still on the rise. In the week up to January 16, the borough's infection rate crept up to 387.4, an increase of 1pc on the previous week.Over the same period, the number of positive tests across the region dropped by 12pc.A total of 71 cases were recorded in Breightmet North in the seven days up to January 15, according to data from Public Health England (PHE).It leaves the area with an infection rate of 835 cases per 100,000 people, the second-highest in Greater Manchester.Only Moss Side West recorded a higher rate, with 893 cases per 100,000 people.
