Anne Hegerty wants her The Chase costume to include a whip, fishnet stockings and high heels - but the show’s bosses aren’t too keen.The telly brainbox, 63, is known for wearing a smart trouser suit on the ITV series in her guise as The Governess, but she would prefer to sex up her image with some bondage gear.She said: “I really would like my costume to include high heels, fishnet stockings and a whip, but they don’t seem to want to go for that.”Anne - who joined the show in 2010 - has joked she makes her upmarket Chase attire look like it has been purchased from a “charity shop”.Speaking on BBC Radio Manchester about how her look on the programme came about, she added: “They sent me with our fashion stylist to a shop to try on some clothes, and the stylist took some pictures and sent them back to the producer.“When I got back to the studio the producer said, ‘Did you have a nice shopping trip?’ And I said, ‘Oh, yes.

I think I’m going to have a nice, little, navy Chanel trouser suit,’ and she said, ‘I think you’re not.’“I went, ‘OK,’ and then I saw what they were going to put me in and I was like, ‘Right, well, clearly there’s going to be no room for vanity here.’“It’s actually quite an expensive Italian fashion house, it’s just I manage to make it look as if it’s been bought from a charity shop.”Anne has previously admitted she was going to be nicknamed “The Headmistress” on the show until host Bradley Walsh kept calling her “The Governess”, and she asked show bosses to change her moniker.Anne has been on The Chase since 2010 and was a a contestant on the 2018 ITV reality show I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!.She has made appearances on a number of other quiz shows, including Mastermind, Fifteen to One, Today's.
