Boris Johnson and Carrie Symonds had their surprise wedding back in June - an intimate affair with just a few friends and family - Symonds wore a bell-sleeved tulle gown worth £2,830 by designer Christos Costarellos.
But instead of paying the full price, she loaned the dress for £45 a day from dress rental company My Wardrobe HQ. She's one of many brides opting for a rental on their special day – and the trend seems here to stay.
The company has seen a 600% increase in bridal rentals since last year. “We added a large wedding collection to our rental and resale offering last year, and we’ve seen it become a solution for pandemic brides looking for an easy option in a rapidly changing situation,” says creative director Sadie.
