A Lanarkshire fundraiser is proving he’s no ordinary Joe despite battling a terminal illness. Joe Steen is aiming to raise thousands of pounds to buy a van for St Andrew’s Hospice he has worked as the warehouse manager at for the last seven years.
Tragically, the 61-year-old, from Cambuslang, was diagnosed with asbestosis and was given a terminal diagnosis several months ago.

He told Lanarkshire Live: “To put it bluntly I know I am going to die, but I can’t be bitter about it because I’m using the energy I have to try and get this van for my staff who will be here when I’m not. “If we can do that, it would mean the world to me.
