Teenage girl, 16, 'raped in city centre apartment' as six men arrested

A 16-year-old girl was allegedly raped in a city centre apart-hotel in an early morning attack. Police received reports that the teen from Merseyside had been assaulted in an apartment at the Uno building on Temple Court, Liverpool.

The alleged incident was reported just before 4.30am on Sunday. Six men were arrested and have been taken to police stations across Merseyside where they will be interviewed by detectives.

Two of the men were arrested on suspicion of rape, the Liverpool Echo reports. The other four males were arrested on suspicion of causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent.

Witnesses reported seeing a number of young men being led out of the Uno building and put into separate police vans this morning.
