The winner of the 17th series of The Apprentice has been revealed as boxing gym owner, Marnie Swindells.The 28 year old beat stiff competition from 18 ambitious entrepreneurs undertaking plenty of tough tasks on the popular BBC show to win a life-changing £250,000 investment from Lord Alan Sugar, her new business partner. She won the show with her boxing gym business plan for Bronx, and last week she said: "My business is in boxing gyms, the name’s Bronx, the idea is to create a middle-market option between the high-end boutique gyms and the low-end spit and sawdust gyms." Marnie was in the final with Rochelle Ray Anthony, who's dream was to expand her salon and hair academy business.

Rochelle Anthony has impressed Lord Sugar enough to make it all the way to The Apprentice final, which is no easy feat.The 35 year old businesswoman and mum of two is the owner of The Doll’s House salon in Milton Keynes, which offers hairstyling and extensions. However, the business was in serious trouble before the star headed into the show, which has been reported to subject contestants to 18 hours of filming straight, to try and secure Lord Sugar’s investment. According to Companies House, a public registry of UK business, her salon has debts of around £65,000 and boasts a measly £500 in assets.

The Apprentice star Baroness Karren Brady, 53, has slammed the tories over the way they have handled the strikes carried out by nurses across the country this week.The business executive has even claimed that the government are “damaging the NHS” with their actions.A staggering 100,000 nurses are estimated to be striking this week for the first time in the history of the NHS. Baroness Brady began by pointing out how ironic it was that we were clapping for those same nurses during the pandemic, as she argued that they now feel “betrayed” after all they have done for this country. She went on to praise the “selfless angels” for their tireless efforts, before noting the “damage” the government was causing to the NHS by not giving them a substantial pay rise. “While staff in different hospitals have made different decisions about striking, I’m certain they are all in total agreement that the Government’s 4.3 per cent pay offer isn’t only insulting, but actually damaging to the NHS,” she penned in her latest column. Baroness Brady noted that, while the demand for a 19 per cent pay rise might be “unrealistic”, the nurses are mainly interested in being “treated with respect”. She added that the Scottish Government was able to prevent strike action with “a sensible offer of between 7.5 and 11 per cent.”The entrepreneur also pointed out that the NHS is a “special case” when it comes to this month’s strike action, and called on Prime Minister Rishi Sunak to take the issue seriously. “The desperately low morale of the people we rely on to prop it up is endangering its very existence,” she warned.
