Gogglebox star Ellie Warner has given her fans a pregnancy update, revealing she's been diagnosed with a health condition. The Channel 4 star, 32, is expecting her first child with boyfriend Nat and has been keeping Gogglebox viewers updated with her pregnancy journey on the hit TV show.
During Friday evening's episode, Ellie sat down with older sister Izzi to watch a new instalment of The Apprentice and shared that she'd been diagnosed with gestational diabetes. "Alan Sugar is my only sugar fix now I have got gestational diabetes," the mum to be quipped as the TV show began.
The NHS states that gestational diabetes is high blood sugar (glucose) that develops during pregnancy. It is most common in the second or third trimester but can happen at any stage of pregnancy.
Gestational diabetes usually disappears after birth. Symptoms can include an increased thirst, blurred eyesight and the urge to urinate more than usual.The condition is taken very seriously, as it can lead to premature birth, pre-eclampsia and jaundice in newborns.
