Flea has revealed which is his least favourite album by Red Hot Chili Peppers, and admitted that he has hopes to re-record it.The renowned bassist was speaking as part of a new interview with Los Angeles Times when he reflected on his extensive career, and opened up about which of his albums with the funk rock veterans he is least proud of.Speaking with the outlet’s Mikael Wood, Flea — whose real name is Michael Peter Balzary — admitted that of the band’s 13 studio albums, it is their 1984 debut LP that he wishes he could revisit.“I always regret the way we made the first one,” he admitted. “I think the songs are really good.

Mad Cool Festival 2023 has announced it will move to a new location within Madrid that will be more accessible for attendees.The festival will now take place in a new site in the city’s Villaverde District, as part of wider plans to transform the area into a cultural hub. The Darkness‘ Justin Hawkins has shared that he “gets nothing” from Red Hot Chili Pepper‘s guitarist John Frusciante, on his podcast.The frontman’s comments came from a recent episode of “How NOT to Write a Song,” his podcast in which he and his guest Pat Finnerty (of the YouTube series What Makes This Song Stink) discussed Frusciante and his guitar playing.“My issue with Red Hot Chili Peppers is that I get nothing from John Frusciante’s guitar playing. I feel like if we can call [Dire Straits’] Mark Knopfler an underrated player, I would describe John Frusciante as an overrated player.

Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist Josh Klinghoffer has claimed that the band were “doing cooler music” when he was in the line-up.Klinghoffer joined the Chilis in 2009 after serving as a touring member following the departure of guitarist John Frusciante. He recorded two albums with the group: ‘I’m With You’ (2011) and ‘The Getaway’ (2016).In 2019, Klinghoffer was asked to leave Red Hot Chili Peppers when Frusciante returned to the fold.

Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea has announced that he is launching a new podcast.Entitled This Little Light, the 15-part series will see him sharing his musical memories with the likes of Rick Rubin, Cynthia Erivo, Thundercat, Patti Smith, and Margo Price on topics including first teachers, early influences, experiences, and how all these lessons shaped their creativity and careers.A portion of the proceeds from the podcast will go towards the Silverlake Conservatory of Music, a non-profit music school and organisation that Flea founded in 2001.“I wanted to do This Little Light to benefit my music school, the Silverlake Conservatory of Music,” Flea said in a statement via Rolling Stone. “The idea behind it being music education, falling in love with music and embarking on a musical journey for your life.

Hayley Williams of Paramore has led a ‘Happy Birthday’ singalong with her band’s crowd at Austin City Limits, directing the message to Flea on his 60th birthday.Paramore’s set at the Texan music festival took place on October 16, and included Williams’ tribute to the Australian rocker – who she said she’s “​​loved… since I was 8 years old and it was really inappropriate”. Pink joined forces with Foo Fighters and Queen at the second Taylor Hawkins tribute concert in Los Angeles last night (September 27).The singer performed a number of tracks with different artists throughout the night at the Kia Forum including Heart‘s Nancy Wilson for their track ‘Barracuda’ before she joined Queen and the Foo Fighters for a rousing cover of ‘Somebody To Love’ – the song that Hawkins covered himself over the years.Later she teamed up with the Foo Fighters to sing ‘The Pretender’ during their main set at the finale.
