Netflix has been ordered to remove sex scene from one of its shows following a complaint from a drug trafficker.The streaming giant was forced to pay the drug dealer thousands of pounds over a scene in drama Cocaine Coast that depicts a sex scene between him and his wife.Laureano Oubiña, 78, who was imprisoned for drug trafficking and money laundering, successfully sued Netflix for €15,000 (£12,696) for invasion of privacy at a court in Spain.The judge presiding over the case also told Netflix that they should axe the scene, which plays during the opening moments of the series.Oubiña previously launched proceedings against Netflix upon Cocaine Coast’s release, alleging that the series caused him “moral damage.” He was seeking €1.5million (£1.26m) in damages.In 2023, Oubiña’s lawyer said: “The life of Mr Laureano Oubiña has worsened considerably since the broadcast of this series because he is portrayed as a person capable of taking the life of another, violent, sexist, a cocaine trafficker, impotent, vicious, unfaithful, a bad father, a bad husband, a brute, foolish, vengeful, an abuser of women, ignorant and a mafioso.”However, these claims were dismissed by the court.The judge said ruled that a project “inspired by reality” cannot be subject to a “demand for veracity.” They also added that the character of Oubiña in the show was not “very different” from both the image and “conduct” he presented himself.Cocaine Coast is based on the rise of drug clans in Galicia in the 1980s and 1990s.A synopsis of the show on Netflix reads: “In 1980s Galicia, Spain, a young fisherman becomes a prosperous cocaine smuggler by providing Latin American suppliers with a European entry point.”

Thania Garcia Vin Diesel and Zion of the Puerto Rican reggaeton duo Zion y Lennox have teamed up to voice “Don’t Stop The Music,” a new Latin dance single produced by Dimitri Vegas. One half of the duo Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike, Vegas recruits Diesel — or “Vin” as he’s credited on the track — and Zion to spit verses over a bumping bassline. Although the track was leaked online a few weeks ago — without Diesel or any of the participating artists being credited — the song amassed over 100 million views on Instagram and TikTok combined.

John Hopewell Chief International Correspondent Spain’s Onza Americas, behind “Isla Brava,” a hit on TelevisaUnivision streamer ViX, and Mexico’s BH5 Studios, behind a brace of Mexican blockbuster movies, have closed a TV series development-production agreement. The strategic alliance rolls off Onza Americas, BH5 Studios’ and Rodrigo Trujillo’s collaboration on production of mystery series “Isla Brava,” which bowed on ViX in May, becoming its most-watched series during its first few weeks. The partners are now working on a second season of “Isla Brava” for ViX.

Cynthia Littleton Business Editor FX and Disney+ Latin America have ordered a docuseries that will revolve around Club Necaxa, the beloved Mexican soccer team, with Eva Longoria and the “Welcome to Wrexham” duo of Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney on board as executive producers and on-air stars. The deal with FX/Disney+ comes three months after Reynolds and McElhenney joined Longoria as investors in Club Necaxa.

Strictly Come Dancing has announced that Aljaž Škorjanec will return to the ballroom this year, two years after his exit. It was revealed that the fan-favourite dancer will be waltzing back onto our screens for the 20th year of the BBC One dance contest on The One Show on Monday evening (July 8).

Thania Garcia J Balvin is ready to unleash his first album in nearly three years. On Thursday, the superstar announced his new album, “Rayo,” the follow-up to 2021’s “Jose,” will arrive Aug. 9 with help from a Latin all-stars including fellow reggaeton acts Feid, Bad Gyal and Chencho Corleone, along with Mexican country singer Carin León and rising acts Ryan Castro and Blessd, among numerous others.

Leo Barraclough International Features Editor Peruvian director Paolo Tizón‘s documentary “Night Has Come,” which has its world premiere Sunday in the Proxima competition section at the Karlovy Vary Film Festival, has debuted its trailer (below). The objective is to turn them into fearsome fighters operating in the dangerous VRAEM region, an area plagued by various armed groups, guarding their coca plants and engaged in narcotics trafficking.

Jack Dunn Apple TV+ has revealed the lineup of “Super Music Friends” who will perform throughout the first 10-episode season of “Yo Gabba GabbaLand!,” which premiers Aug. 9. The lineup includes Anderson .Paak, Portugal.

Ty Myers has signed with Records Nashville/ Columbia Records and will release his new song “Let ‘Em Talk” via the label “very soon,” according to the announcement. Myers is managed by Blake Shelton manager Narvel Blackstock of Starstruck Entertainment. He has enjoyed hits with his songs “Tie That Binds” and “Drinkin’ Alone” (which may be written from experience as he is not yet of drinking age).

The Simpsons, has died at the age of 81.The Peruvian-Mexican actress was renowned for dubbing countless major roles in English-language titles for the Spanish-speaking market.The news was confirmed by the actors who portray Lisa and Bart Simpson in the Latin American dub, Patricia Acevedo and Claudia Motta. “With profound sorrow, the Simpson children (Lisa and Bart) announce the death of our beloved mum, Marge Simpson (Nancy MacKenzie),” they wrote.
