Lucy Dacus has covered Bruce Springsteen’s ‘Dancing In The Dark’ with her dad – listen to it below.While touring in New Jersey as part of her ‘Home Video’ tour, Dacus brought out her dad for the cover, describing him as “the biggest Bruce fan I know”.Dacus has recently been performing on stage on a couch due to a recent injury which has left her with two herniated discs. Rather than cancel the shows, she has performed parts of her set lying down.This cover began with Dacus lying down on the coach but by the end, she rose to her feet, earning a huge cheer from the audience.The singer-songwriter’s dad Ben joined her on stage and played guitar.

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds have cancelled their scheduled concerts in Russia and Ukraine “in light of current events”.The group were due to perform at Bol Festival in Moscow, Russia on June 18 before visiting the Palace Of Sports complex in Kyiv, Ukraine on August 19 as part of a wider run of dates for 2022.Sharing a statement on social media, Cave and co. said they had “no choice but to cancel” the shows following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine last week.

Haim have shared a new song called ‘Lost Track’ – you can listen to it below.The LA trio’s latest offering was previewed during select screenings of Licorice Pizza, Paul Thomas Anderson’s new coming-of-age film that stars Alana Haim alongside Cooper Hoffman.Anderson (Boogie Nights, There Will Be Blood) began working with Haim in 2017 on the accompanying visuals to their second album, ‘Something To Tell You’. He then created the artwork and videos for their latest record, 2020’s ‘Women In Music Pt.

Sharon Van Etten has shared her latest single ‘Used To It’ – you can hear the new track below.The song marks Van Etten’s second solo release of 2022, following on from last month’s ‘Porta’.Speaking about ‘Used To It’, which was originally written for the score for the 2020 HBO documentary Baby God, Van Etten explained: “Ultimately, the film team changed their musical direction, but I found myself welcomely challenged to the idea of writing a song about the concept of family, connection through blood, nature vs. nurture, while attempting to incorporate ideas of love and the complexities of science and technology.“I am grateful for this song to be able to have a new life, relating more to the times we have all been living through and redefining the meaning of this song by focusing on the positives of seeking connection and understanding what family means to the individual.”The track’s accompanying video, which you can see above, was created by Van Etten’s musical director and bandmate Charley Damski, and features the dancer and choreographer Hayden J Frederick.Van Etten said of the clip: “Together, they helped me convey the feelings of internal struggles, while also finding space for oneself and embracing that pain in order to move on.” Van Etten will head out on a UK and European tour this summer.

Yard Act have cancelled their scheduled performance in Newcastle tonight (March 1) due to illness.The band are currently out on a headline tour of the UK in support of their debut studio album, ‘The Overload’, which was released on January 21.In a statement posted on social media today, Yard Act frontman James Smith told fans that he’d been “battling a sickness bug since Sunday” after performing a homecoming show in Leeds the night before.As a result, the group have been forced to scrap their gig at Newcastle venue The Cluny this evening.“Was hunkered down in the hopes I would’ve shaken it by now, but I still can’t move an inch without running to the toilet. I’m gutted,” Smith explained.I hate canceling shows, I'm so sorry.

Foals have been announced to headline Latitude Festival 2022 alongside Lewis Capaldi and Snow Patrol, frontman Yannis Philippakis has told NME of the band’s storied history with the Suffolk festival – and why they owe a lot to Latitude.Ahead of the release of new album ‘Life Is Yours’, the band will top the bill at the event for the second time this July, continuing a long and eventful relationship with Latitude.“The first time we played [in 2008] was memorable because we played in Spain the night before and had got caught up in a big fight the night before with Kele from Bloc Party and John Lydon,” Philippakis told NME referring back to whenKele Okereke accused the Sex Pistols frontman of a “racist attack” on him backstage at a festival, with Yannis and Kaiser Chiefs‘ Ricky Wilson stepping in.“I got handcuffed and a security guard put me in a neck lock and I blacked out,” Yannis remembered. “We flew in and then played Latitude for the first time on zero sleep.”A slightly less eventful second performance then came on the tour for second album ‘Total Life Forever’, though Yannis remembered the show being stopped due to crowd surges and pressure on the barrier.

Franz Ferdinand have cancelled their upcoming shows in Russia following the country’s invasion of Ukraine last week.The Scottish band have become the latest act to axe their planned Russian gigs in the wake of the widely condemned Vladimir Putin-ordered military assault, with Yungblud, Green Day and the Russian rapper Oxxxymiron also scrapping shows in recent days.After speaking out in support of the “open and welcoming” people of Kyiv last week, Franz Ferdinand have confirmed this morning (March 1) that their scheduled gigs in St Petersburg and Moscow on June 29 and July 1 will no longer take place.The band said in a statement that “the only reason for this is the invasion of Ukraine by the Russian state”.“We love Russia. This great country has inspired our band through its art and literature and since we first played there 17 years ago, we have built a rich and deep relationship with our Russian fans,” the band said.“Since Thursday morning [February 24], we have spoken to many of our friends in Russia via social media and have encountered unanimous opposition to this violence and solidarity with our Ukrainian friends.

Haim have revealed that they are releasing a new track tomorrow (February 28).On Instagram today (February 28), the trio revealed that they had a line written for a song for the last year – “I’ll never get back what I lost track of” – but that they “could never figure out what to do with it.” They added: “We kept writing it down, not knowing where it should live.”The trio then went on to say that when filmmaker Paul Thomas Anderson did a “director’s cut” issue for W Magazine, with youngest sister Alana on the cover, “an opportunity arose to do a quick music component while shooting the story.”Anderson’s new film, Licorice Pizza, stars Alana in her acting debut and is a coming-of-age drama set in the 1970s in Los Angeles’ San Fernando Valley, focusing on Haim’s character, Alana Kane, and Gary Valentine (Cooper Hoffman).The post goes onto explain that the trio recorded a new song for the cover shoot, using the line they had written over a year ago.A post shared by HAIM (@haimtheband)They explained: “Paul mentioned having the book Appointment in Samarra as a possible direction [for the cover]. Wet Leg have shared a new track today (February 28) – listen to ‘Angelica’ below.The duo have also once again self-directed the video for their latest track, which is set on the Isle of Wight where the band are from.Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers say the song is about Teasdale’s oldest friend. It was recorded in Chambers’ living room by bandmate Joshua Mobaraki according to a press release.It goes on to describe the song as a mixture of “the absurd”, “the sardonic”, “social angst” and “a a trippy, synth-kissed journey through parties and regrets.”Speaking about the new song, Teasdale said: “It’s laced with disenchantment. Even though the chorus is ‘good times, all the time’.

Nick Cave exhibition Stranger Than Kindness is set to receive its North American premiere in Montreal in April.The exhibition, which is offering “an unprecedented look into the creative world” of the Bad Seeds musician, was designed in collaboration with Cave and previously opened in Copenhagen, Denmark in March 2020.Stranger Than Kindness: The Nick Cave Exhibition will now take up residence at the Galerie de la Maison du Festival in Montreal, Canada on April 8, and will be on display there until August 7.“With more than 300 objects collected or created by Nick Cave through six decades of his creative and private life brought together in large-scale installations, the exhibition is an artwork in itself,” a description for Stranger Than Kindness reads.
