Hypnotherapist 'put woman under his spell' before commanding her to take clothes off
hypnotherapist who placed a woman under a "spell" and sexually assaulted her has been jailed for 29 months.Ian Roper, 58, is said to have "commanded" the victim to remove her clothing while she was rubbing sun cream into her body while on a sun bed, Bradford Crown Court has heard.The 58-year-old pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting the victim, who Roper engaged in sexual activity with without her consent.READ MORE: Fairground plane crash horror left terrified pilots clinging to shattered Ferris wheelRoper is also said to have attempted to "put her under" his spell a second time after he had "commanded" his victim when she began to wake up from a first round of hypnotism.Initially claiming the allegations were false, Roper pleaded guilty during a trial that saw the presiding judge say that the 58-year-old had been driven by "selfish and sexual" desires.Prosecutor David McGonigal says the defendant had "put her under" by touching her shoulder and taking her to her "safe place" and that "the only thing that mattered was his voice".After telling his victim to "rub imaginary sun cream on herself", Roper is said to have removed her bra before the victim came around and "pushed the defendant away."McGonigal added: "She wanted to get away as soon as possible."Roper pleaded guilty at his trial to causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent and possession of indecent images, which police found on Roper's laptop.

ghost.The legend of “The Lady of St Michael’s Churchyard” has been spoken about for years in Madeley, Telford and depicts a woman who lays flowers on graves before vanishing into thin air.Many residents have claimed to have witnessed this and maintain that the Lady is real, but completely harmless to onlookers. READ MORE: Ghosts shouts 'yer bawbags' at paranormal team in abandoned church The church yard hosts lots of unique graves that create a spooky and yet interesting atmosphere at the location.Amy Boucher, a local expert in Shropshire folklore spent time looking into the legend of the ghostly lady."Little is known about the identity of Madeley’s first ghost,” she tells the Shropshire Star."She can be found haunting St Michael’s Churchyard, which is certainly an atmospheric location."If you like graveyards, you will probably be impressed with St Michael’s, with its numerous unique graves. From Mary Tooth - whose epitaph reads ‘her warfare is complete’ (one can only assume what such warfare was) to the beautiful hand-crafted mosaic memorial to Charles Arthur Turner (a little boy who died whilst playing in the local area) it’s clear that history rises up through these stones.”The church is undoubtedly spooky, with a variety of old graves that could be perceived as quite intricate.
