The BAFTA TV Awards made a welcome return to our TV screens, with dozens of stars gathering to celebrate the most prestigious awards in British television.The annual awards bash tonight, 14 May, was hosted by comedians Rob Beckett and Romesh Ranganathan and took place at The Royal Festival Hall in London. As most awards ceremonies are, the evening was filled with laughter, tears and glamorous red carpet looks, and some TV stars even walked away with two awards.

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield were the brunt of the joke at tonight's BAFTA TV Awards, as Queuegate got another mention. As co-hosts Rob Beckett and Romesh Ranganathan gave a shoutout to Imelda Staunton, the former quipped: "She's nominated for her performance in The Crown... apparently Phil and Holly got to watch that a couple of days before everybody else!" Letting out a laugh, Ranganathan, 45, said: "Little bit of edge for you early doors! How d'ya like that?" as Beckett, 37, noted "all the ITV guys" trying to keep a straight face.

Viewers of the BAFTA TV Awards were less than pleased after Casualty was named the winner of the Soap & Continuing Drama category over long-time favourites such as Emmerdale, EastEnders and Coronation Street.The soap category, in general, has been a mixed bag at the award ceremony, with ITV's Corrie walking away with the away last year but not even making the nominations list this year. And there appeared to be further chaos as Casualty walked away with the big win during the ceremony at the Royal Festival Hall in London on Sunday, 14 May.

Kate went on to praise her daughter, Mia, as she said, honestly: "There were days when it was agony for her to dig as deeply as she did, into very frightening emotional territory, sometimes - it took my breath away." She continued: "I Am Ruth was made for parents and their children.

Emma Willis turned heads as she matched the BAFTA TV Awards red carpet at the Royal Festival Hall in London on Sunday afternoon, 14 May. Just days after her husband, Matt Willis, bravely revealed his addiction struggles in a new BBC documentary, 47 year old Emma stunned in a scarlet futuristic halterneck dress.The gown featured edgy cut-outs throughout and funky stitched detailing down the centre before falling into tiered ruffles at the bottom. It was a big night for Claudia Winkleman as she scooped up two awards for her fronted reality TV show, The Traitors, during the TV BAFTAs on Sunday evening. The show first won the Best Reality and Constructed Factual award during the star-studded ceremony before Claudia later went on to win Best Entertainment Performance for the show.
