A doctor has warned surfers that we are only a week behind Italy and urged them to stay indoors after they were spotted off the Devon coast, despite the UK being on lockdown.
North Devon have webcams at their popular beaches, and one appeared to show at least 20 surfers in the water at Croyde at lunchtime.
More surfers have been spotted at Saunton and Woolacombe beaches too. However, a local GP, who is also a keen surfer, has urged them to stay at home amid fears it will send the wrong message to others.
