Sunday Brunch chef Simon Rimmer made a public apology after admitting he changed a family recipe for the TV show.Rimmer said his mother had to be "consoled" after he changed one of their favourite desserts.The 57-year-old said: "I’m going to make Granny’s cake."So this is a recipe from my mum, in fact it’s not a recipe from my mum, it’s called Granny’s cake because it’s actually a recipe from my mum and dad’s former next door neighbour’s granny."He continued: "So it’s always been known as granny’s cake and it’s my favourite cake that my mum makes and at my birthday and Christmas she gives me one of these every single year."Looking sheepish, the cook added: "But mum, I’m really sorry, I’ve changed the recipe."Probing the star, co-hosts Tim.
