James Jordan has admitted making a parenting mis-step after giving his baby daughter a sugary snack right before bed. The former Strictly star, 42, became a first-time dad earlier this year when his wife Ola gave birth to a little girl named Ella.

He's been documenting his fatherhood journey on social media since Ella arrived, and over the weekend he confessed he'd made a mistake.

James told his followers he'd given Ella a snack of pureed fruit right before bedtime - and it was unlikely she would be going to sleep any time soon.

Speaking in a video posted on Instagram, he explained: "So, I thought I was being good daddy helping Ola out while she was upstairs. "I mixed up some apple and banana for Ella.
