Stormzy has thanked God and said that he is ‘blessed’ as he and Michael Sheen both won prizes at the first online Sandford St Martin Awards, which celebrate broadcasting around issues of faith and ethics.Michael, along with David Tennant and writer Neil Gaiman, nabbed the Radio Times Readers’ Award for their popular Amazon Prime Video series Good Omens.Grime star Stormzy – who this week announced he was making a £10 million pledge to organisations fighting racial inequality – was the recipient of the Trustees’ Award, previously announced ahead of the event.The Vossi Bop star was recognised for his openness and the ‘clarity about which he speaks and sings about his faith’, as well as ‘for the huge efforts he has made to translate that into.
