Storm Arwen rail chaos captured by helicopter team as fallen trees block Scots train tracks

Storm debris littered across Scotland’s railway network has resulted in mass disruption for train travellers. A number of lines remain blocked by fallen trees which were uprooted by winds of up to 100mph during Storm Arwen.

A track safety inspection remains underway by Network Rail Scotland who are using a specialist helicopter to scour for blockages.

An image released by the team shows a massive tree blocking both lines of the track at Errol, near Dundee, after they were blown over on Friday night.Further damage has been discovered near Broughty Ferry where another large tree has landed on the railway.Network Rail, who own and manage most of the railway network in the UK, have said their teams are working as hard as possible to fix any
