Two people have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a grandmother died following a doorstep burglary. Josephine Kaye, 88, was attacked on her doorstep by screwdriver-wielding robbers who then stole thousands of pounds in cash from her property.
Ms Kaye died on Tuesday - 19 days after the cowardly attack, reports Stoke-on-Trent Live. Now a man and a woman from the city have been arrested on suspicion of murder and a third suspect, a 27-year-old man from Leicestershire, has been detained on suspicion of robbery and in connection other offences in Essex.
In a Facebook post, Ms Kaye's grief-stricken granddaughter said: "My nana is the most gentle, sweetest soul I have ever met. "She would do anything for anybody.
